Located in the surroundings of the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew Palace is one of most beautiful palaces in the world. Stepping into this most intimate of royal palaces we can sense the joys & sorrows of past royal lives in intimate detail, as King George III & his family come to life through a radio play & display of fascinating personal artifacts. Experience a riot of colour in authentically recreated Georgian rooms, before wandering through the eerie rooms of the upper floor left untouched for centuries. There are many 'unmissable' famous & exciting sights at Kew Palace including the ailing George III's waistcoat, one of the earliest examples of costume adapted for illness.; George III’s daughters’ 18th-century doll's house; the amazingly realistic bust of George III, a reproduction taken from an original mould kept in Madame Tussauds’ archive; Queen Charlotte’s Chair in which she eventually died; the extraordinary Jigsaw Cabinet contains some of the earliest jigsaw maps in existence, showing us the world as it would have been seen by the young George IV; & the Princesses’ bedrooms.

Set within Kew Gardens is Queen Charlotte’s Cottage, built in the 1770’s, decorated as a fascinating rustic-style cottage complete with thatched roof & where the family enjoyed informal picnics & afternoon teas.

We can also enjoy Kew Gardens’ combination of 300 acres of beautiful landscapes & plant collections, including recent additions like the Xstrata Treetop Walkway, the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art & the Davies Alpine House as well favourites such as the Princess of Wales Conservatory; the Palm House & the Temperate House.

We will lunch at the nearby Ma Cuisine restaurant situated in the heart of Kew Village & only five minutes walk away. It is a traditional French bistrot offering high quality regional French cuisine where we can enjoy the freshly prepared French food in relaxed & friendly surroundings & discover why Ma Cuisine was an ITV London Restaurant Award winner in 2005! It has received many other accolades, including the Michelin Bib Gourmand for successfully combining informality & good value with the finest regional French food and drink.

After lunch you are free to explore the rest of the Botanical gardens & exhibitions or just sit on one of the many park benches and soak up the scenery.
