We travel by private coach from central London to Snowshill Manor with our own private tour guide Tim Hudson, to entertain us along the way with interesting & intriguing anecdotes. A traditional golden-yellow manor house set in a delightful village high above the Vale of Evesham, Snowshill Manor is packed to the rafters with a spectacular collection of craftsmanship & design from across the globe. Charles Paget Wade amassed more than 22,000 items during his lifetime, creating an Aladdin's cave of unexpected delights. Experience his uniquely presented collection, which includes samurai armour, clocks, toys, bicycles, tools & musical instruments. Outside, we can wander through the numerous small 'outdoor rooms', with their terraces and ponds & admire the views.

Afterwards our coach will take us to the village of Broadway often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds' & the 'Show Village of England' because of it's sheer beauty & magnificence. Here we will have a succulent lunch with wine in The Barn Owl of the Dormy House Hotel, a tastefully converted farmhouse with its origin in the 17th century.

Replete we set off for Upton House near Banbury, the home of 1930s' millionaire Walter Samuel, 2nd Viscount Bearsted, who was Chairman of Shell & son of the company's founder. He was a passionate art collector, & visitors can enjoy internationally important works by artists such as Hogarth, Stubbs, Canaletto, Brueghel & El Greco. Lord Bearsted's extensive porcelain collection includes 18th-century Sèvres porcelain, Chelsea & Derby figures. Upton has all the elements of a millionaire's country home – with swimming pool, squash court & a glamourous Art Deco interior in Lady Bearsted's bathroom. Outside, the sweeping lawn gives way to a dramatic series of terraces & herbaceous borders, which descend to a kitchen garden & tranquil water garden. Upton is also home to the National Collection of Asters.

At the end of our tour we can relax & discuss our day’s adventure on the coach ride back to London.

£89.00 incl. VAT, entrance fees, private coach, private coach & lunch
